Goal Event/s of 2011: To have a consistent and solid year with the team in all the Masters, and some Open races, and also make a few podiums along the way.
Favorite Event and Why: I really enjoy the Tamworth 2 Day tour. It’s a nice change to do a few stages over the weekend which we really only get a chance to do in a couple of local races. I also enjoy visiting Tamworth and catching up with some good friends. Unfortunately it was cancelled last year due to the Election. Mudgee is also a great weekend because it’s a fun place to visit and the racing is always hard there. I enjoy racing any of the state open and masters championship races.
How I Got Into Cycling? A good mate of mine started to get me out a couple of times per week when I was living in Adelaide about 6 years ago. Then I really started cycling with more consistency after a serious waters skiing accident approximately 4 ½ years ago and have since been taking it more seriously.
Motivation to Join Turbo Studio Team Sponsored by Vantage Freight: I see it as a great idea and fantastic opportunity to go out race, have fun with some mates, and bring some exposure to some great businesses. It also helps provide focus to help with training so that I can continue to improve and be successful in my cycling.
When I’m not Cycling or Working I’m ... Eating, drinking coffee, relaxing and hanging out with Jen and my friends. As you can see, it normally involves sitting around, maybe watching television or a movie, and eating. I don’t do a lot of physical activity outside of riding my bike, which is the same as most of the cyclists I know, (except for Matty Lucas who just seems to be a brilliant all rounder with anything he does, including figure skating).

and .... I was born and bred in Melbourne and now live in Clovelly with my girlfriend of 3 years, Jen (Yes, I know I hear that I should have made her an honest women by now from everyone, GO EASY!). And by the way its Jen, not Jens as in Jens Voight one of my cycling heroes. I don’t have any kids. I used to play AFL football for 19 years and have competed water skiing since the age of 7 until my accident 5 years ago.

I have a background in Anatomy and Physiology and I get to utilise some of these skills in my current job working for a large international orthopaedic company, which I really enjoy.
